Who is going to put the collar on the cat?
There’s an old fable about a group of mice who are being pursued (and eaten) by a cat. One of the mice suggests an idea of putting a collar with bell attached on the cat so that they can hear whenever the cat approaches. All agree this is a great idea but then comes the question… who is going to put the collar on the cat?
No one knows HOW they are going to do this and no one particularly wants to try. While they discuss and deliberate the cat slowly but surely munches its way through the mice.
Coming up with the ideas is often the easy bit. Most companies have a rough idea a least of who they want to target and they know the products and services they provide. The bit they struggle with is the HOW.
How are we going to reach these people?
How are we going to persuade them to try our product/service?
How are we going to find time to action our plans?
Who is going to put the collar on your competition?
